The occupation authorities of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic opened a "case" against the representative of Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Denys Kazansky. The militants suggested excluding him from the talks. The representative of Donetsk in the Ukrainian delegation in political subgroup Serhiy Garmash reported about it on the page on Facebook.
Garmash noted that the formal part of the meeting of the TCG working group on political issues did not start today.
"Ambassador Morel diplomatically postponed it for April 27. During this time, he hopes that the TCG will somehow be able to resolve the problem with the terrorist Maya Pirogova, whom the ORDO is bringing to the talks without any official status or legitimization," he added.
Ukraine, as you know, has stated that it will not sit at the same negotiating table "with a man convicted by a court and declared wanted" Maya Pirogova.
Representatives of the ORDO, invited by the Russian Federation, approached the problem "creatively" today and, symmetrically to Ukraine, stated that a case had been opened in the "republic" against Denys a member of the Ukrainian delegation Kazansky therefore, his participation in the negotiations is unacceptable to them. And it is after 11 months of Denys' work at TCG! He is accused under an article that provides for the death penalty with confiscation of property," he wrote.
Garmash also said that in addition to exchanging Pirogova for Kazansky, "Russian representatives from ORDLO offered two more options: simply ignore the existence of criminal cases and continue working with Pirogova and Kazansky; or continue negotiations only with "official" representatives of the "parties," without the participation of experts and advisers."
"The representative of Ukraine remained principled: all members of the Ukrainian delegation were introduced by official notes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will take part in meetings of working groups and TCG. Kostin also reminded that the parties to the talks are Ukraine and Russia with the mediation of the OSCE; ORDLO are not members of the TCG," Garmash wrote.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Oleksiy Arestovich said that Russia met the demands of Ukraine and agreed to dismiss the "LPR expert" Maya Pirogova from the meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group.
On April 13, TCG planned videoconferences of the working groups on security, political issues, the humanitarian working group and the economic working group.
It is also known that on Wednesday, April 14, a videoconference of the general meeting of the TCG is to take place.
