The difficult weather conditions are observed in the majority of the regions of Ukraine. Due to the heavy snowfalls, the decision was made to ban the entrance of heavy vehicles to Kyiv and restrict the traffic in the number of regions as 112 Ukraine TV channel correspondent reported.
“Due to the heavy snowfalls yesterday the decision was made to ban entrance of heavy vehicles. Lots of traffic jams observed at all entrances to the capital are observed. They last for a few km,” the correspondent noted.
According to the Emergency Service, light snow is observed in Cherkasy, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions. It is raining in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On February 9, it was snowing in the majority of the regions with a temperature of up to five degrees below zero. In Zakarpattia and south regions – wet snow and rain observed.
The ice slick occurred at all roads of Ukraine, except south and Zakarpattia. Besides, an ice slick observed on the roads of the Kyiv region.
The rescuers stated that yesterday was a very difficult day, as well as today. During 24 hours, they had to tow almost 300 vehicles, including 15 ambulances.
In Ukraine, the weather conditions have deteriorated. As we reported, amid the bad weather, the airports of Lviv and Odesa canceled some flights. A number of flights will arrive in Ukraine with a delay.
Earlier, it was stated that on February 8, heavy snowfalls expected all over Ukraine.
Today, snow is expected in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. In Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, the west snow with rain will occur with the ice-slick formation on the roads.
