The organizer of the smuggling faces up to three years in prison

The smugglers tried to transport spare parts of the Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter from Ukraine to Russia, as Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) press service reported.

"Law enforcement officers detained smugglers in the Kharkiv region, a few meters from the state border. During the detention, it appeared that the criminals carried the cargo with parts for the Mil Mi-24 helicopter," the statement said.

Investigations on the crime circumstances are still being carried out. The organizer of the smuggling has been notified of the suspicion. He is currently in custody and faces up to three years in prison.

As it was reported earlier, on July 14, officials of the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed smugglers who tried to import to Ukraine Apple gadgets worth more than one million dollars.
