“When we started gas transmission system modernization works, we had agreements on delivering compressor systems produced by Siemens. However, in some time they refused such cooperation, as it threatened their contacts with Russia,” Kobolev said.
Previously sanctions on Russia were increased, when the country brought Siemens turbines into occupied Crimea, which violated the earlier imposed by the EU. Siemens claimed that at least two gas turbine units were supplied to Crimea against the company's will. At first, Russia denied the fact of the supplies but Technopromexport confirmed the supply of the gas turbines to Crimea after their modernization.
