Shooting in Kyiv: cafe owner shoots visitor dead

A conflict between a café owner and a group of visitors emerged on the Obolon front in Kyiv. The owner shot one person dead and injured one more, as the press office of Kyiv National Police Head Department reports.

The incident happened at around midnight on June 24.

“The shooter was detained. He is a native of another country, he was born in 1958, he has never come into the view of the law enforcers. The died was the native of Zaporizhia region, born in 1989, the injured – the native of Donetsk, born in 1987,” the police reported.

The wounded was taken to the medical facility with gun-shot injuries.

“We have seized Makarov pistol, preliminary – a military one with a destroyed number, and spent cartridges,” the police officers added.

The shooter faces 15 years of imprisonment or imprisonment for life.

As reports, according to the preliminary data of the law enforcers, a group of men and women were resting in the restaurant. The owner stated that the visitors were offending him in front of his daughter who also works in the café.

According to the news agency, there were two injured as a result of the shooting. They were hospitalized.
