Seven police officers were injured during the rally on October 4 against the construction of gas stations as the press service of the National Police in Kyiv reported.
The police noted that about 200 people took part in the protest actions and some of them were in the covering masks.
‘The unknown began to destroy the hoarding, commit waste of the worksite and hurl the smoke bombs on demands of the police officers to stop the unauthorized protest. Seven officers of the police were injured at the attempt of stop the hooliganism’, the message said.
It is noted that two district police officers, two officers of special police service and three inspectors of the Kyiv Chief Directorate requested medical assistance. They were detected the brain commotion, craniocerebral traumas, soft tissue bruises of legs and arms. Also, one MP of the Kyiv Council was injured.
According to Ukrainian news, the injured MP is Oleksy Novikov from ‘Unity’ party. ‘The police was inactive when the clashes took place and they detained people without regard after the end of the conflict. I think that exactly the local citizens really oppose the illegal buildings but not the police’, he commented.
Two criminal proceedings were opened due to the article 296 (Hooliganism) and 345 (Threat or violence against an officer of the law enforcement) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The persons who committed the offense are under establishment.
As it was reported earlier participants of a rally trashed a gas station on Revutskoho street in Kyiv. Around 300 people held a rally against the construction of an OKKO gas station on Revutskoho street. It is noted, that the locals and about 40 participants of the National Corps political party participated in the protest. It was also reported that 14 partakers of the conflict and three journalists were injured.
