Senate of Australia approves statement on Holodomor in Ukraine

The document states that as a result of the conscious actions of the Stalin regime almost 7 million Ukrainians died of hunger

The Senate of Australia adopted a statement on the anniversary of Holodomor in Ukraine. Senator Catryna Bilyk the author of the document wrote this in Facebook.

“Today my motion to mark the beginning of the 85th anniversary commemorations of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine in 1932-33 passed the Senate,” Senator wrote.

As it was reported earlier deputies and the leadership of Swedish Parliament Riksdag on Wednesday, November 29, honored the memory of the Holodomor victims in Ukraine in 1932-1933.

"The event was attended by the speaker of the Swedish Riksdag Urban Ahlin, the first vice-speaker Ewa Thalen Finne, the head of the Swedish-Ukrainian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Christer Hammarberg, members of the Swedish Riksdag, ambassadors of the countries of the world accredited in Sweden, representatives of the Ukrainian public organizations in Sweden. The event in memory of the the Holodomor victims in Ukraine in 1932-1933 was organized with the direct assistance of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Riksdag of Sweden and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” the message says.
