On October 7, 2019, members of the Law Partnership of Ukraine appealed to the Security service of Ukraine with a statement that the NBU heads had committed a crime
"The hryvnia exchange rate, set by the National Bank does not correspond to economic realities, including contradicting the balance of foreign trade, the rate set for the 2019 budget and the growing budget deficit. Thus, the NBU threatens the Ukrainian economy," activists say.
“We believe that with such indicators, the hryvnia exchange rate is possible only in the case of illegal activities of officials of the National Bank of Ukraine, which causes significant damage to the economy of Ukraine and threatens to undermine the economic security of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
“Officials of the National Bank of Ukraine do not serve to implement state interests, protected by law, they carry out the strengthening of the national currency by hiding the circumstances, facts and data on transactions of sale of US dollars, which were concluded by Ami on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine with other banks and the National Bank of Ukraine, manipulating the data of the foreign economic balance in calculating the hryvnia exchange rate, which leads to an increase in the country's debts and causes significant damage to the economy of Ukraine and the economic security of Ukraine, and committed the crime." reads the message.
As we reported, the National Bank of Ukraine filed an application with law enforcement authorities in connection with the fact that the speculation of the protesters at its walls was fake.
