The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea held an operational and staff meeting in Kherson on the security situation on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The press service of the SSU stated this.
"Ukraine's readiness for practical action in case of Russian armed aggression, particularly a possible attack by Russia deep into the sovereign territory of Ukraine, was tested. Special attention was paid to countering growing terrorist threats, intelligence and subversive activities in border areas with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and guaranteed protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens," the statement said.
The participants also worked out the collaborative mechanism of public authorities, whose powers include the implementation of state policy on de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The issue of application of special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) on legal entities and individuals involved in the financing of terrorist activities, assistance to illegally formed formations and governing bodies operating in the occupied territories was also worked out.
As it was reported earlier, Russia has set up a new military camp on the territory of the annexed Crimea. Satellite images have recorded a huge Russian military camp in the east of the Crimean peninsula.
