Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko calls for the meeting of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Wednesday, March 15, regarding the issue of imposing sanctions against Sberbank, Ukrainian subsidiary of the Russian bank. This was reported by Internal Minister Arsen Avakov on air of ZIK channel, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

"As far as I know, president convenes Security and Defense Council on Wednesday, I think this issue (possible sanctions against subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia - 112 International) will be included to the agenda and will be considered," he said.

Avakov expressed confidence that Russian banks cannot work in Ukraine in current situation, especially after the announcement on recognizing "DPR/LPR" passports.

"I think we will settle the issue in a legal way," Minister noted.
