The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) decided not to disclose the retaliatory measures to the issuance of the Russian passports to the citizens of the occupied area of Donbas referring to the start secret, as News of Donbas reported.
The council noted that the bodies of the state authority submitted their offers on the counteraction threats from the simplified order of issuance of the Russian passports in Donbas for consideration of the NSDC.
“The information about mentioned measures relates to the state treason and has a level of secrecy in accordance with the compilation of statements, which make the state secret and disclosure of which creates the threat for the national interests and security,” the NSDC stated.
On June 14, it was reported that the citizens of occupied Donbas began to get the passports of the Russian Federation. These IDs were registered in the simplified order in accordance with the April order of the Russian president.
Foreign Ministry of Ukraine condemned such measures stating about the intention to continue work on the imposing of proper sanctions against Russia.
Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli stated that the EU leaders will discuss the issuance of the Russian passports to the citizens of occupied Donbas soon.
