Searches of a Ukrainian sailor, who fell overboard a merchant vessel in Baltic Sea are over, as Polish Radio reported.

It was noted that the search and rescue operations have lasted for five hours after a Ukrainian sailor from one of the merchant's vessels fell overboard. Ships of Search and rescue service, a helicopter, Water Volunteer Ambulance Service, and border guards took part in the operation, which was ceased at around 7 am.

The representatives of the Search and rescue service informed that “chances to find the Ukrainian sailor alive were close to zero.”

“Radio Gdansk reported about a Ukrainian who fell overboard. The incident occurred at around 1 am near Władysławowo,” the message says.

According to the outlet, the search and rescue operation was conducted within five nautical miles away from the coast Puck and Gdansk bay.
