Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine, under procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, conducted searches at Energoatom on December 11 at the place of work and residence of officials of the state-owned enterprise, who may be involved in the purchase of equipment and installation works for some of the Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plants at inflated prices. The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported this on Facebook.
According to investigators, in 2017-2018, some commercial entities supplied specialized valves for a total of almost 1,7 million dollars, having previously purchased them from manufacturers at four times the price.
“To artificially increase the price of products, the fake contracts were drawn up, as well as accounting and taxation and the chain of transit enterprises were used,” the message says.
According to Ukrainian News agency, the press service of Energoatom denied the fact of searches.
“There were no searches both in Kyiv office or in separate divisions,” the message says.
