In Ukraine, schools may face quarantine closures even if most staff are vaccinated. This was announced by the Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko on the air of the program Freedom of Speech on ICTV, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“If there is an infected child, the class goes to self-isolation. If more than 50% of the classes also go to self-isolation, the school goes to self-isolation. Even if teachers are vaccinated,” Lyashko explained.
According to him, such measures will help curb the spread of coronavirus infection without stopping the educational process in the country.
The Minister noted that in Ukraine, out of more than 14,000 schools, 60 are now in self-isolation.
As it was reported earlier, in all public schools of Kyiv, the vaccination rates of the teaching staff reach over 80%.
