
Head of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) Vasyl Hrytsak awarded military grade to his First Deputy Ivan Bakanov, simultaneously with his admission for military service to SBU, as Pravda news outlet reported referring to the answer of the establishment for the journalistic request.
“The rank of lieutenant was awarded by the decree of the Chairman of Ukraine’s Security Service simultaneously with Bakanov’s admission for military service to Ukraine’s SBU under the contract of commissioned staff,” the answer reads.
Bakanov was on record in Dnipropetrovsk Region in Dzerzhinsk district military office, he had the military rank “common soldier”.
In compliance with the article No. 20 of the Law on military service under the contract of commissioned officers, Ukrainians among the people liable for military duty, those who have higher education with academic level of training no less than a bachelor, who comply with the profile of official activity, who are below the maximum age of duty are inducted to SBU.
Ivan Bakanov worked as the Head of Kvartal 95. He also has been heading Servant of the People party since 2017.
