Security Service officer, colonel Oleksandr Kharaberyush died in car explosion that occured in the center of Mariupol. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
It is noted that policemen of the Central Police Department of Mariupol were the first to arrive at the scene, as they heard the sound of an explosion on the street.
“The explosion occurred at 8:35 a.m. in the central part of the city at the intersection of Mettallurhiv avenue and Kafayska street,” Mariupol police reports.
The area is surrounded by officers of the Mariupol patrol police. The investigative-operative group of police and rescuers are also working at the scene.
Oleksandr Kharaberyush had two children, the younger daughter is two years old.
“SBU does everything possible to find and punish those responsible for the incident. We pay our debts quickly,” SBU head Vasyl Hrytsak said.
Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) expresses deep condolences to the family and friends of Oleksandr. "The family of our employee will receive full support from the SBU. We do not leave our people in trouble," he said.
One of the versions of the explosion is a terrorist attack, organized by a diversionary-reconnaissance group of "DNR" terrorists.
