The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed and blocked another scheme of falsification of PCR test results in Kharkiv region. Employees of a travel agency and a medical laboratory were engaged in illegal activities, the SBU press service reports.
Every month, dealers produced up to 600 fake certificates for travel abroad, including international certificates
Police found that the deal was arranged by two employees of a travel agency in collusion with a private medical laboratory. During the sale of foreign tours, the attackers offered their customers to buy PCR tests with a negative result on Covid-19.
Clients used forged documents to cross the border quickly and unhindered, as well as to evade mandatory 14-day self-isolation.
After full prepayment, the malefactors sent the data to a medical laboratory, where they falsified PCR tests without actually taking samples. The illegal scheme made it possible to enter false information into the medical system of the EHR, the data from which were included in the Vdoma application.
According to operative information, every month the illegal business brought the participants of the business a profit of more than $19 thousand.
During searches in the medical laboratory, in the office of the travel agency and at the residences of the defendants, law enforcement officers seized falsified certificates of PCR test results, electronic media, draft records with evidence of illegal activities.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings, the issue of notification of suspicion to the participants of the criminal scheme on the fact of fraud committed on a large scale (Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years with confiscation of property.
