The issue of sanctions against Ukraine or Russia by the organizers of Eurovision will be considered only after the event ends. This was reported by Jon Ola Sand, the executive producer of European Broadcasting Union, according to Deutsche welle.

"There is not a single decision regarding sanctions, and this subject will remain outside the agenda until the completion of the Eurovision contest," Sand announced. Possible sanctions will be discussed after the event ends.

Jon Ola Sand also noted that the question of possible sanctions itself in the current situation is very complicated.

"Everything that happened this year should be regarded after the event, according to the rules. But we should also take into account the fact that situation is very specific, very complicated this year," Executive Supervisor added, noting that sanctions may even make things more difficult for the organizers themselves.
