Former head of Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili told about the content of the “spreadsheet” from Odesa City Council, which he published earlier before the session Malynivsky District Court of Odesa on Gennady Trukhanov case, as he told in an interview with 112 Ukraine.
“This is “off-the-book”, the way Odesa is controlled and how the city is being destroyed. There are schemes which help people to arrogate the land parcels: they take public restroom in the most luxury place, take the land parcel under the restroom, privatize it and then build something there, and this is how historical Odesa is being killed. There is one very big deal: city hall decided to move to another place and took a building, overpaid 100 million of hryvnias, and spent half a million for repair,” he said.
Saakashvili also noted that the journalists are afraid execution for such actions, explaining why he decided to reveal this information.
“A journalist told me that he was afraid that he would be killed… People are afraid to publish such information. Of course, I am not afraid, I promised them that I will reveal this data so that people know the truth,” he added.
As it was reported earlier, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov is suspected of violating the law due to the fact that he did not declare the property his wife owns.
The NABU detectives under the guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office served charges on Trukhanov due to the suspect of the embezzlement through the malpractice. Moreover, three people were detained on the same criminal proceeding.
The court released Trukhanov on the parole of Dmytro Golubov, the MP of Ukraine. Before this, the clashes near the court took place,38 people were detained.
