The National Agency on Corruption Prevention must meet society’s expectations and at least respond to the most egregious cases of illegal enrichment or false data, but the Agency does not possess the technical capacity to conduct effective verification yet. This was reported by a member of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention in the interview to Dzerkalo Tyzhnia.
"Technically it is very difficult to carry out with people’s force. The idea was that we obtained automated access to all databases, all public registers, the ability to obtain information in an automated way and handle it. Unfortunately, the two most important software modules do not work so far, they remained without checking and access to registers,"- Ryaboshapka said.
According to him, the legal norm on the audit of e-declaration within 90 days was removed as unrealistic, and at the moment the members of the agency do not have the urgent need to check all declarations in such term.
"To be honest, we will have approximately 150 thousand declarations for 2015 and should full scan each of them. As the provisions of the Law about 90 days-verification were eliminated, because it was unreal, now the test period lasts for the entire period of stay of politician or official at the post, plus three years after the dismissal. That is to say, even if we do not have time right now to check the declaration, it will be possible to check it after the dismissal of the declarant, therefore there is no critical need to dig all of them at once, hundred thousand, no." - the representative of National Agency on Corruption Prevention said.
