Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka on Wednesday, November 20, at a briefing confirmed the extinguished conviction of Verkhovna Rada MP Roman Ivanisov (Servant of the People party) for raping a minor. Ukrainian news reports.

"This information was verified. Not by us. And all these facts were confirmed," - Ryaboshapka said, noted that Ivanisov’s conviction has long been extinguished.

In the evening, a refutation of Ryaboshapka’s statement appeared on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office.

"The information on the confirmation of the canceled conviction of one of the MP of Ukraine, announced today during a briefing at the Prosecutor General’s Office, is not confirmed," the statement said.

As we reported earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine referred all its cases to the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police.
