The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) has stated about the detention of a Ukrainian citizen in Tula, who supposedly tried to “find out classified information about the Russian armament” as the FSB reported.

The FSB stated that the Ukrainian collected information about “the newest samples of the armament” and “classified engineering documentation”.

Besides, it is reported that he was apprehended with the mainour: he, supposedly by the order of the intelligence services of Ukraine, held the search of employees of the Russian defense enterprises with access to state secrets.

“His goals were: recruitment cultivation of the Russians and receiving from them the information protected by law on перспективных разработках in the small arms,” the message says.

The criminal case is opened against the detainee due to the espionage. The Ukrainian faces up to 20 years in jail.

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has not confirmed or commented on the information about the detention of the Ukrainian in Russia.
