Russia’s FSB detains Ukrainian for attempt to pass classified military maps

The FSB of Russia detained the citizen of Ukraine allegedly for the attempt to pass the classified documents of the Russian General Staff, particularly the copies of the topographic military maps, to the special services of another country as RIA News reported.

The Russian security forces do not specify the country the special services of which should get the maps’ copies.

‘Simultaneously, the special investigation activities at the places of the resident of three Russian and one Ukrainian citizens in Yekaterinburg, Simferopol and Omsk were held, the electronic and paper copies of the classified topographic military maps of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia were confiscated’, the FSB reported.

Also, it is reported that the criminal proceeding is not opened against the detained.

The detained recognized that they threatened the security of Russia. Earlier one of them was brought to the responsibility due to the state treason.
