Russia’s ‘best friends’ are Belarus, Kazakhstan and China

Citizens of the Russian Federation consider the USA, Ukraine and Turkey major enemies. These are the results of the latest survey about the Russians’ attitude to other countries of the world, conducted by ‘Levada-center’, ‘Vedomosti’ reports.

72% of the Russians have the most hostile attitude towards the USA. 48% of Russia’s population believe, that Ukraine is their major enemy (just 37% of the Russians had this attitude back in 2016). Third more hostile country, according to the citizens of Russia, is Turkey, with 29% of respondents thinking the country is their enemy, according to the survey.

Meanwhile, the Russians believe, their ‘best friends’ are Belarus (50%), Kazakhstan (39%) and China (34%). Last year, 43% of the Russians called China their ‘friend’. However, this year, 10% of respondents consider Syria a friendly country, whereas back in 2015, just 2% of Russia’s population thought this way.
