Russian Yandex shuts its offices in Kyiv, Odesa

Many workers of the company will be offered jobs in other countries’ offices

Yandex.Ukraine company was put into sanctions list and cannot continue its activity on the territory of Ukraine. That’s why its offices in Kyiv and Odesa will be soon closed. This was announced by the company on its Facebook page.

"In particular, all accounts of the company are blocked, and we can not pay salaries to employees, or our contractors. Therefore, we decided to close offices in Kyiv and Odesa, many employees of our team will be offered to work in other Yandex offices in different countries, " the statement said.

More than 11 million Ukrainians were using services of Yandex at the time the sanctions were imposed, the company added.

Earlier it was reportedt that Mail.Ru shut their offices after being blocked in Ukraine. All Ukrainian employees got the job offers in Russian offices.
