Dmitry Medvedev hopes that Russia would agree on the further cooperation with winner of the presidential run in Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as he wrote on Facebook.
Medvedev believes that Zelensky would lead the country following his convictions and plans he talked about during his campaign. Yet he hopes that Russia would agree with Ukraine on further economic cooperation.
“I have no doubts that speaking of the relationships with Russia, the new head of state will adhere to the rhetoric he used during his election campaign. Repeat famous ideological formulas aimed at different categories of the population. I don’t have any illusions in this regard. At the same time, we have chances to improve our cooperation,” Medvedev wrote.
He also thinks that the Ukrainian President needs to be fair and have common sense, he has to find a “pragmatic and responsible” way considering the situation in Donbas.
