Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova arrived in Kyiv as Interfax reported citing ombudsman’s press service.
“Today’s night Tatiana Nikolaevna flew to Kyiv and she stays there now,” the press service reported.
Besides, the press service noted that the purpose of ombudsman’s visit to Kyiv is unknown.
Earlier Russian Embassy in Kyiv announced the visit of Moskalkova to Ukraine as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“Yes, we have information that she will come. One-day visit,” the embassy reported.
Earlier it was reported that Russia may send Ukrainian imprisoned sailors back to Ukraine until the end of August. According to the daily newspaper, the sailors who were detained by Russian militaries would definitely come back to Ukraine after the last year incident in the Kerch Strait. The exchange will be held until the end of August.
As we reported Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Lyudmyla Denisova offered to release 24 Ukrainian POW sailors on her personal recognizance. According to her, the sailors stay in “the fighting mood, wait for the return to the motherland”.
