The Investigative Committee of Russia claimed about the detention of Ukrainian citizen Roman Ternovsky connected with ‘Right Sector’ in Rostov region as the press service of the committee reported.

‘Citizen of Ukraine Roman Ternovsky connected with the activity of the forbidden by Supreme Court of Russia extremist organization ‘Right Sector’ was detained in Rostov region’, the message said.

According to the Investigative Committee, ‘Ternovsky repeatedly took part in the small protests, rallies and other public mass events in Ukraine as the member of ‘Right Sector’.

‘Moreover, Ternovsky used Facebook to propagate of ‘Right Sector’ activity among the users of the information and telecommunication internet network, including the persons permanently living in the territory of Russia’, the committee stated.

‘The actions of Ternovsky aim against the interests of Russia and qualified due to the part 2, article 2822 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that provides the criminal liability for the participation in the activity of the extremist organizations’.

According to the Investigative Committee, ‘the articles of clothing and other personal belongings with the marking of ‘Right Service’ were found during the search of the suspect at the place of his residence in Rostov-on-Don’. The court held that Ternovsky should be placed under detention on the application of the investigation.

‘The work on the establishment and prosecution of the heads and members of ‘Right Sector’ continues’, the Investigative Committee added.

Later the Russian TV channel ‘NTV’ published a video with the detention of Roman Ternovsky by the officers of the FSB.

It is seen that the men in the covering masks and jackets with a sign ‘FSB’ pull a man out of the car who is Roman Ternovsky as they stated. Then they show this man closer and he talks about something but the video is mute.
