On July 9, Russian hackers attacked the website of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

As a result of the cyber attack, the portal published some documents and mostly fake messages related to the Sea Breeze 2021 exercises, which are now continuing in the Black Sea. The Ministry of Defense claims that none of the documents was obtained as a result of information leakage from the information and telecommunication systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

However, the website of the Ukrainian fleet was temporarily shut down because hackers exploited the vulnerabilities of the framework on which it was created.

The official web portal of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also became the target of DDoS attacks. But they turned out to be unsuccessful.

At the moment, the threats have been eliminated. The Ministry promises to resume the work of the Navy website in the near future.

As we reported earlier, US President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The presidents discussed a number of issues, including cyberattacks and the joint work of their respective teams following the Geneva summit.

"The leaders commended the joint work of their respective teams following the US-Russia Summit that led to the unanimous renewal of cross-border humanitarian assistance to Syria today in the UN Security Council," the message says.
