State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that the information of the FSB of Russia about the detention of a Ukrainian at the border has not yet been confirmed. Oleh Slobodyan, assistant head of the State Border Guard Service said this on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"Speaking specifically about the fact that there was a Ukrainian who allegedly carried a large number of weapons, there was a shootout and he was wounded, we are studying these circumstances and so far there is no information that would confirm this," Oleg Slobodyan said. .
Also in Border Guard Service noted that today the service received a letter from the FSB that they detained allegedly a citizen of Ukraine:
"Today we received a letter from the Russians stating that they have detained allegedly Ukrainian citizen who behaved aggressively and they were forced to use the weapon to detain him. This is a short message that we have received from the Russian side. There was nothing about the fact that he was wounded, it is not said that he was trying to carry weapons, but now the circumstances of this offense are being studied, "Slobodyan commented.
"If we talk about the section of the border controlled by us, we inform the other side, just as they inform us, because in each case we need to conduct border representative meeting to establish the fact of violation of the border. This is necessary for legal registration of the documents, and this is stipulated by bilateral agreements, " Border Guard Service added.
As it was reported earlier a citizen of Ukraine started shooting at Russian border guards, and during the detention, he fired back and tried to escape, due to which he received injuries of moderate severity. This was reported with reference to the Russian FSB report. Federal Security Service of Russia noted that during the detention the man opened fire and made an attempt to hide in the territory of Ukraine. It is reported that the detainee had two guns, five grenades, 50 cartridges of 5,45 mm caliber and 26 ampules, presumably with mercury.
