A diplomat of Russia’s Embassy has 72 hours to leave the territory of Ukraine from today, April 19. He received a proper note as UNN reported citing spokesperson of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry Oleh Nikolenko.
The note was sent today, thus, the senior diplomat of the Embassy of Russia in Kyiv has to leave the territory of Ukraine during 72 hours.
The issue is about one of the advisers of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyiv with Chernikov surname.
Currently, the return of the Ukrainian diplomat home is being solved. “In accordance with the demand of the Russian side, he should leave the territory of Russia during 72 hours, starting from today,” Nikolenko added.
On April 17, the FSB of Russia reported the arrest of the Ukrainian consul Oleksandr Sosonyuk. The diplomat was allegedly detained while receiving information of a classified nature during a meeting with a citizen of the Russian Federation.
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stated to prepare a response based on the principle of reciprocity in connection with the detention of the Ukrainian consul in St. Petersburg.
Later, it was reported that Ukraine expels a senior diplomat from the Russian embassy in Kyiv. He must leave Ukrainian territory within 72 hours starting from April 19.
