The counterintelligence men of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a citizen of Russia in Chernihiv region during the preparation to the sabotage attack at the strategically important object - military airport, as the SBU reported.
The case officers documented that a foreigner, who lived in the region, was making explosive substances and improvised explosive devices. He also conducted reconnaissance at the territories adjacent to the military airport.
During the authorized investigative actions at the place of residence of a perpetrator, the law enforcers confiscated three improvised explosive devices, almost two kilos of chemicals, electric detonators, two types of the explosives, annotations with the chemical formulas, specialized literature and schemes of the creation of the explosives. Besides, the materials were found which witness the gathering of the information at the object of diversion by a foreigner.
At the moment, the SBU investigators provided the suspicion to the Russian citizen in the commitment of the crimes such as diversion and illegal handling of arms, ammunition or explosives. The court chose the restrictive measure in the form of detention.
Earlier, the officers of the National Guard detained a citizen of Luhansk who turned out to be involved in the activity of the illegal armed formation Mir Luganshchyne.
