Russian banks picketed in Kyiv: protesters glue posters, spill paint

Protests were organized by the political party National Corps, their goal is to stop the work of Russian banks in Ukraine

The representatives of the political party National Corps, spilled paint at the doors and glued posters to the facades of buildings of five Russian banks in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of metropolitan police.  

“Groups of unknown men came to the premises of banks located at different addresses, and are trying to get in. It was reported to the police control room of Shevchenkivsky police office at 8:30 today. They also spill paint and glue posters on the walls of the banks,” the police reports.

Police patrols and investigation group of the territorial police department arrived at the site. They are now talking to the activists. The National Guard officers were also dispatched to ensure public order.

As it was explained by National Corps political party, the pickets were organized at the offices of the most famous Russian banks in Ukraine, Sberbank of Russia, Alfa-Bank, BM Bank, VTB Bank, Prominvest Bank. Participants demand of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to close Russian banks and intend to continue pickets not only in Kyiv, but also throughout the country.

"We are trying by all legal means to draw attention to these illegal institutions. With a help of publicity we draw attention to the unacceptability of functioning of any institution of Ukraine‘s enemy! The blood on the improvised map of Ukraine symbolizes the blood of our defenders shed because of the country - aggressor," according to the statement of the party.

The information of the protest was registered as a report on committed criminal offenses in the Shevchenkivsky police department.

Earlier it was reported the struggle is going on against Russian banks in Ukraine.This year, Russian financial institutions have been subjected to destruction, we propose to recall the notorious incidents.
