The Russian authorities accuse citizen of Ukraine Pavlo Gryb detained in Belarus of the preparation of the terrorist attack at the school. Russian investigators claim that he offered to his friend in Sochi to explode a bomb at the school assembly as Kommersant reported.
The Russian authorities claim that Gryb was detained by FSB officers on August 25 in Smolensk region after he was put on the wanted list in Russia.
The Russian special services detained the Ukrainian citizen Pavlo Gryb on August 25 and did not allow the representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the advocate to visit him. The Belarusian side confirmed the fact the Gryb crossed the border on August 24 only on August 31. It became known on September 7 that Gryb is at the pretrial detention center in Krasnodar and he is accused of the terrorism.
The period of investigation on Pavlo Gryb case was prolonged until January 2018 on October 18 and the representative of the investigation appealed to the court with a request to prolong the arrest of Gryb until January 4, 2018.
‘The representative of the investigation explained that Pavlo Gryb is the supporter of the radical nationalist views of the Ukrainian National Assembly – Ukrainian People’s Selfe-Defense (UNA-UNSO) and he is accused of persuading his friend from Krasnodar Krai to explode an improvised explosive device at the school assembly of secondary school #26 in Sochi while he grounded his request’, Kommersant noted.
Advocate Andry Sabinin appealed to a court to vary the preventive measure for his client that is not connected with the detention. The administration of the pretrial detention center refused to give Gryb who has a disablement the necessary medicaments.
‘The doctors from Ukraine are not allowed visiting Pavlo; the necessary medicaments are not given to him since the beginning of the detention. The administration of the pretrial detention center refused to take it even when I buy the medicaments with the permission of the doctor of the pretrial detention center. If Pavlo released under lock and key, he will be treated but he will be plagued to death’, Sabinin claimed.
Earlier the ECHR demanded from Russia the statement on Pavlo Gryb's health. Also, he offered to send his doctors to the pretrial detention center and the Ukrainian side sent the doctors to him on October 11 without waiting for a permission of Russia. However, the Russian side did not let them see Gryb.
