Shoigu has ordered the General Staff that commands troops of the military districts and airborne forces to plan and hold the return of troops to places of permanent basing from April 23.
He called the relocation of the majority of the Russian troops to the southern borders of Russia an ‘unexpected’ check.
“I believe that goals of the unexpected check were completely reached. The troops showed the possibility to provide reliable protection of the country. Due to this, I made a decision to finish verification activities in Southern and Western military districts,” Shoigu said.
Recently, the escalation was observed in Donbas, as well as the build-up of the Russian forces near the border with Ukraine.
As we reported, a Ukrainian military man died today, on April 22, in the Donbas Conflict zone as a result of the hostile attack.
