The Russian Federation will not seek confrontation near the administrative border of Ukraine with Crimea. This opinion was expressed to the "112 Ukraine" TV channel correspondent by the former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov.

"I do not think that the Russian authorities will go on a confrontation and respond with missile strikes. I do not think that they have any reasons for that,” he said.

At the same time, Kasyanov said that the response from the Russian side is only possible if the Ukrainian launches will threaten the population of Crimea directly.

Kasyanov believes that Crimea's accession to Russia is an illegal action which is contrary to international law, herewith "Ukraine has the right to use the airspace and territory, which is temporarily taken away."

However, according to Kasyanov, the Ukrainian authorities have to evaluate political risks when going for such exercises. "The rightness is on their side, but the question of provoking further conflict also depends on the actions of the Ukrainian authorities,” he added.
