Russia through different forms of pressure tries to achieve the recognition of the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk by Ukraine “in a friendly way” as RBK-Ukraine reported citing adviser of President’s Office Head Mykhailo Podolyak.
“We observe undisguised attempts through different forms of pressure to achieve from Ukraine the recognition of the occupation in Donetsk and Luhansk in the so-called friendly way. In other words, to force Ukraine to accept the events. It cannot work for sure,” Podolyak underlined.
He also noted that by its recent actions, Russia tries maximally stokes unease both in Ukraine and the rest of the world, but the sense of its policy remains unchanged.
The spring PACE session has begun in Strasbourg. It is planned to hold debates on “the Russian threat to peace aspirations in Europe”.
Russia continues to build up its forces near the Ukrainian border. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that there are 80,000 Russian soldiers and 30,000 pro-Russian militants near the border with Ukraine.
