Russia releases Ukrainian political prisoner Roman Ternovsky convicted for the participation in the Right Sector organization as Union of relatives of Kremlin’s political prisoner on Facebook.
“Political prisoner Roman Ternovsky was released due to the end of the term of illegal imprisonment. Now Roman is in Ukraine, in a terrible state he aims to home in Kharkiv region. The man has no money and any other resources,” the message said.
On October 18, 2017, Russian Investigation Committee informed that Ukrainian Roman Ternovsky was detained in Rostov region. According to the Committee, “during the search of the place of residence of the suspect in Rostov-on-Don clothes and other personal belongings with Right Sector symbols were found”. The Court decided to take Ternovsky into custody at the request of the prosecution.
Later, the representatives of the Right Sector stated that Roman Ternovsky supported the organization earlier, but they added that the connection with him was lost around a year ago.
In 2018, Russian court accused Roman Ternovsky, involved in the Right sector rallies aimed against Russia’s interests and expelled him for two years and three months in prison.
