The Russian side has rejected the initiative of Ukraine to meet in Minsk for the discussion of the pass of 36 citizens of Russia in the exchange of the Ukrainians. Iryna Gerashchenko, the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada reported this on Facebook.

"Unfortunately, the Russian side and ombudswoman of the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova rejected the initiative to meet in Minsk and discuss the pass of 36 citizens of Russia in the exchange of the political prisoners of Kremlin. Russia just does not need its citizens," Gerashchenko said.

She added that she informed the representatives in Russian in OSCE that 22 Russians convicted in Ukraine for the preparations of the terrorist actions, diversions, espionage, participation in the illegal armed formations and military actions, wrote the appeal to the Russian President Putin with the request to pass them to Russia, in the exchange of the Ukrainians detained in the Russian prisons.

Earlier, Ukrainian Ombudsman Denisova stated that 22 Russian prisoners wrote Putin a letter with a request to exchange them for Ukrainian political prisoners.
