Earlier we have reported that the current contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine ends on December 31, 2019. Therefore, on January 1, 2020, the parties must conclude a new agreement.
Naftogaz Ukraine CEO Andry Kobolev reported that Russia has begun the negotiations with Ukraine on the extension of the gas transit.
The Ukrainian side stated it was ready to participate in the trilateral negotiations on Russian gas supply and transit through Ukraine to the EU in September 2019.
