Russia opens criminal case against Ukrainian MP

Volodymyr Parasiuk is suspected of “inclining citizens to attack” the Russian consulate in Lviv

Russian Investigation Committee opened a criminal case against people’s deputy of Ukraine Volodymyr Parasiuk. This was reported by the press service of the Investigation Committee.

It is reported that the IC of the Russian Federation continues to investigate the criminal case in connection with the attack on the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in 2016 (Article 360 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) in the city of Lviv and the desecration against the flag of Russia (Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).  

"One of the defendants in this criminal case is the current deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Parasiuk. During the investigation, besides the involvement in the above crimes, the investigation received sufficient evidence indicating that Parasiuk on March 9, 2016 also inclined people who gathered near the Consulate General to commit attacks on the Russian consulate. Thus, a criminal case was opened against Parasiuk on the grounds of the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation (involving individuals in the attack on institutions that has international protection), "the message says.

Earlier it was reported that Russia initiated criminal case against two its citizens involved in Right Sector. Donguzov and Yasev supported the Right Sector objectives and left the territory of Russia for Ukraine.
