Russia holds the intentional work on the fraud of the presidential election in 2019 in Ukraine. Viktor Kononenko, the Deputy Chairman of SBU claimed this at the 8th National Expert Forum broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
'The main threat today is the internal disruption of the situation. We see that the main directions of the Russian special service aim inside the country. Nobody believes in the fast and blazing war, all our rivals count that it is possible to internally change the authority by bribery, agreement and the intentional work takes place, the preparation for the election in 2019', the SBU commented.
The next presidential election in Ukraine should take place on March 31, 2019.
Petro Poroshenko won the election in all regions in 2014, including the foreign district. The inauguration of the new president took place on June 7, 2014.
Also, Poroshenko commented on his intentions to run the presidential election for the second term.
'Talking about the second term, there are two years of the presidential powers more and I have a lot to do. I said that I will present the report on the strategy of the development of the country for the next years in September in the Verkhovna Rada. According to the constitution, any citizen of Ukraine has a right to run for the presidency. I think that it is too early to talk about the potential candidates for the presidency. Talking about my entourage, I confirm that there are talks on the constitutional changes because my entourage is 45 millions of the Ukrainians'.
