The Russian delegation officially claimed about the recognition of the elections in occupied Donbas during the negotiation of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) as Iryna Gerashchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, reported on Facebook.
“Ukrainian side has been always raising an issue of the cancelation of pseudo-election organized by Kremlin in occupied Donbas and its non-recognition. The Russian Federation has officially claimed today that it recognizes the results of the “election” of Moscow puppet regime organized by it,” Gerashchenko claimed.
She added that the by the recognizing the elections Russia “gave a mandate to its puppets for the political destabilization.”
“The Russian Federation, which started the pseudo-election in occupied Donetsk and Luhansk, “election” that contradicts spirit and letter of Minsk Agreements, gave a mandate for a war against Ukraine. The actions of Russia and its puppets lead to the disruption of the political and diplomatic negotiations in Minsk and destabilization of the situation at the front. It is just a repetition of 2014 scenario when the pseudo-election organized by the Kremlin led to the disruption of Minsk Agreements, their non-fulfillment, and serious destabilization in Donbas, thousands of the victims among the military and civilians. This pseudo-elections are already condemned by the EU, U.S., G7 countries, the majority of the country members of the UN Security Council. It is not recognized by the world, except the organizer country - Russia,” she claimed.
In his turn, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the Trilateral Contact Group Martin Sajdik, made an official statement in Minsk: the pseudo-election in Donbas contradicts spirit and letter of Minsk Agreements.
Earlier German Chancellor Angela Merkel claimed that the local elections in Donbas, prepared by the Russian mercenaries, were not in line with the spirit of Minsk agreements.
Besides, the election of the heads of the republics and lawmakers of the people’s councils scheduled on November 11 was caused by the necessity to fill the power vacuum after the murder of Zakharchenko as Vasiliy Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of Russia at the UN said.
