Russian Federation is trying to force Russian citizenship on Oleg Sentsov, a Ukrainian movie director, as the statement of Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s Commissioner for Human Rights, says, 112.u reports.

“Russia is trying to force the Russian citizenship to him – as punishment. It is a weird approach. Citizenship should be a benefit, not punishment,” she said.

Besides, Denisova told that Tatayana Moskalkova, Russian Ombudsman, denied her to visit Sentsov as Denisova I not a Russian citizen.

“Yesterday, Moskalkova, the Commissioner for Human Rights, also denied (her to visit, - ed.) on the grounds that I am not a Russian Federation citizen. It would be weird if a Ukrainian Ombudsman was a Russian citizen. I am a Ukrainian Crimean. So is Oleg Sentsov,” Denisova stressed.

At the same time, the Russian Ombudsman added that Sentsov is being medically examined daily. The local medical worker checked his condition today in the morning.
