National Space Facilities Control and Test Center of Ukraine spotted new military facilities in Crimea since the beginning of the Russian occupation. Ukrainian experts claim that in comparison with 2014, Russia has more than doubled its military potential in the occupied Crimea, Krym.Realii reports.

"National Space Facilities Control and Test Center of Ukraine spot new military facilities that appear in Crimea since the beginning of the Russian occupation," the messages says.

In particular, one of the latest photos shows that a military base appeared in the middle of the steppe in the village of Novoozerne. The National Space Center of Ukraine noted that in 2018 cowsheds were demolished in this place, and during 2019-2020 a large military unit appeared here.

It is noted that the Space Center has discovered dozens of new upgrades made by Russia in Crimea. Subsequently, the collected data are sent to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which analyzes it and the level of threat from the Russian Federation is being assessed. According to Ukrainian experts, since 2014, Russia has more than doubled its military potential in Crimea.

In addition, images from space show that new radar stations and at least eight S-400 missile systems have appeared in Kerch. On the outskirts of Yevpatoriya, a large radio antenna with a diameter of about 30 meters was built. And in the former Ukrainian Space Center in Yevpatoriya, Russia's military and space forces are now based.

Another facility was built near Sevastopol. The archival space images show how a radio station with a dozen satellite dishes was built there in 2016. The average diameter of such an antenna was about 5 meters.

As you know, Russia occupied Crimea in 2014. On March 16, 2014, an unrecognized "referendum" on the status of the peninsula took place on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, as a result of which Russia annexed Crimea. Neither Ukraine, nor the European Union, nor the United States have recognized the results of the "referendum" vote, but Russia itself calls it a "restoration of historical justice."

In early January this year, the ECtHR acknowledged that Russia's control over the occupied Crimea had been established before the illegal annexation. Russia's de facto control over the occupied Crimean peninsula began no later than February 27, 2014.
