The official representative of Russia’s Defense Ministry Ihor Konashenkov claimed during the briefing on September 24 that Russia possesses the evidence of the guilt of the Israeli Air Force in the downing of the Russia IL-20 on September 17 in Syria as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“Today’s data does not witness but proves that the blame for the tragedy with the Russian IL-20 lies with the Israeli Air Force and people who made the decision on such activity,” Konashenkov claimed, presenting the supposed data from the indicators of the combat command facility of S-400 system that spotted the actions of the Israeli fighters and the flight of the missile of the Syrian S-200 complex.

“All timid statements of the representatives of the Israeli military department on the supposed non-involvement of the Israeli side in the tragedy with the death of 15 Russian military men are lie,” Konashenkov stated.

Earlier several airstrikes were launched at Syrian port Lattakia. Russian Defence Ministry informed that IL-20 with 14 military servicemen got lost. It supposed to have been back at the Russian base Humaimam, Syria.

Russia accused Israel of this incident as IL-20 was downed over the Mediterranean Sea by Syrian air defense system as Israeli F-16 fighter aircrafts hid behind the Russian aircraft. Moreover, Russia's Foreign Ministry summoned Harry Koren, the Israeli Ambassador, due to the crash of Russian IL-20 in Syria.

Reportedly, as a result of Russia’s airstrikes at Syrian province Idlib 13 people died. Later, Russia claimed to be continuing bombardments in Idlib, “if necessary”.
