Russia alerts a number of military units stationed in Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechen Republic, Dagestan and in the occupied Crimea. As it was reported by the headquarters of the Southern Military District, military units were raised to check military combat readiness, reports Interfax.
“Alerted military units will march to the determined grounds to perform combat training missions. Officers will be working out scenarios to stop the attack of the hypothetical enemy on the route and train to orient in the unknown places. Soldiers will perform tasks on training tactical actions and shooting,” the message says.
Nearly 3 thousand soldiers over a thousand of weapon units, military hardware and special-purpose machinery will be involved in the trainings. That will include T-72B3 Main Battle Tanks, BMP-3 and BTR-82A Armoured Personnel Carriers.
It is noted that suddenness of the control of combat readiness is an important form of studying the real situation in the armed forces.
Earlier it was reported that Russia will deploy anti-aircraft missile systems in occupied Crimea. According to experts, these missile systems can completely "cover the sky" over the peninsula and the Black Sea.
