Ruban detention: brief history

Ruban's case briefly for a general idea

- Volodymyr Ruban - the head of the Centre for POW Release

- He was detained at the Ukrainian checkpoint at the demarcations line of the Donbas conflict zone. He was carrying weapons in his car.

- Ruban is accused of preparation of terrorist attacks, assassinations in particular. 

- The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv arrested Volodymyr Ruban for 60 days without a right to the bail.

- Ruban denies all the accusations. He claims that the incident was an operation he was involved into as a driver. He didn't know that there were weapons in the car.

- According to Vasyl Hrytsak, there is evidence that Ruban acted in a collision with Zakharchenko and Timofeyev, leaders of so-called Donetsk People's Republic.

- Security Service of Ukraine reports that Ruban along with the militants was preparing terrorist attacks in Kyiv. They planned to have the attack with thousands of victims.
