A round table with representatives of Polish diaspora, Embassy of Poland, and Ministry of Education of Ukraine will discuss the implementation of the “language article” of the education law passed in the Ukrainian Parliament. The meeting is scheduled for October 26, according to the press service of Ukraine’s Ministry of Education.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Education suggested the discussion, and the Polish side agreed to it. The parties are also to discuss cooperation in higher education.
“Ukraine is planning to introduce the system of tracking the employment of university graduates, which will help follow the path of every university graduate after obtaining the degree. This system is already working in Poland,” the statement says.
The new education law makes Ukrainian the language of educational process in Ukraine, and so far proved to be controversial. Some countries, among which Hungary, Moldova, Russia, and Romania, are concerned over this new law, stating that it violates the rights of ethnic minorities.
Hungary claimed they would no longer support Ukraine at the international stage, because of the law.
