Romania approves checkpoint opening on border with Ukraine

The checkpoint will be opened between Orlivka (Ukraine) and Ismail (Romania)

The Romania’s Government supported the opening of a checkpoint Orlivka – Isaccea. The relevant document signed by Vasilica Viorica Dăncilă, Romania’s PM, was made public on the Facebook page of Yuriy Dimchoglo, Deputy Chairman of the Odesa Regional Council.

According to the document, the Romanian customs will be set on the territory of the checkpoint.

The construction of the Ismail – Tulcea (Romania) and Orlivka (Odesa region) - Ismail ferry sectors in December, 2013 was included in the State Targeted Regional Program aimed at the development of Ukraine’s Danube region for 2014-1017.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the project of the opening of the Orlivka - Isaccea checkpoint in November of 2014.
